Brain by: Lucy W.

Photo Drawn by me

In Language Arts we created a representation of our brain, it shows the things that go on in our brain and what we think about. In my brain, family and school are my biggest things that go on. My family is really important to me and school is too. I love to hangout with all my cousins, my brother and my sister.

This brain describes what goes on in my head. I also put my Life List in my brain drawing to show what I want to accomplish. Around the edge of my brain is everything that is important to me. I really liked drawing my brain because I got create what is in my mind and it is really cool seeing everyone’s drawing of what they think their brain looks like.

Squirrel and His Foolish Friends by Davi

Squirrel and His Foolish Friends

Once upon a time, there was a forest. In this forest, there lived a tribe of squirrels. All of the squirrels in this tribe were daredevils, except for one squirrel named Bob Scaredy Squirrel.

One day, Bob was talking with his friends, when they heard raucous laughter. Bob’s friends went investigating while he admired a caterpillar as it made its way up a tree. In the middle of its ascent, a lizard jumped from a nearby branch, grabbed the caterpillar, and started to run. As soon as it was out of sight, Bob heard a voice calling his name.

“Bob, come here Bob, you have to see this!!!!” Bob ran past the trees and saw, spread out on a cliff, a colossal log. Squirrels were running all over the log, their claws clacking against the wet wood.  Suddenly, there was a large crack and the log dipped a few feet. All the squirrels gasped, then started laughing. It seemed that the crack only enticed them more to go on the log, not to run away.

“Come on Bob,” Bob’s friends urged. “This log is really cool!!! It even cracked a little bit!!” Of course Bob, being a smart squirrel said no. When Bob’s friends started urging him even more, he started arguing. When the squirrels started chanting his name, Bob gave in.

He started to slowly walk towards the log, trying to not be scared. When he set one foot on the log, Bob started thinking of all the horrible things that could happen to him if he went on the log.

“No!” Bob declared, “I won’t do it!” And with that, Bob walked off into the forest. He walked for a little while, when he heard a large crack, and squirrels screaming, loudly at first, then slowly getting quieter. Bob raced back to find that the log had broken, and all the squirrels had fallen to the rocky ground below.

Moral: Do what’s right. Don’t give in to negative peer pressure.

The Smuggler On Comic Life by Davi

For my project on Comic Life, I chose The Smuggler. The Smuggler is about a smuggler who when trying to cross a border, is stopped by a border control officer. The border control officer then demanded to search the smuggler’s donkey. He does so, but finds nothing. This happens for ten years, and even thought the border control officer know that the juggler is smuggling something, he can’t prove it. In ten years, when the border control officer is retired, he sees the smuggler in the market, and asks him what he was smuggling. The smuggler says that he was smuggling donkeys. The moral of the story is to not overlook the obvious, and to not judge a book by it’s cover.

I’m Thankful For… By Jack. H

I’m thankful for my dog. Ever since my other dog had to be put down, I wanted another dog. So we went to a dog breeder that lived a few hours away. When we got there for the first time all the dogs were really small. The second time they had grown a little. The reason I’m thankful for him is because if I’m feeling down he comes over to cheer me up. He may not be the smartest dog in the world but he is good enough for me.

Stuck On Blogging? By Joanna

If you can’t think of anything to blog about, here are some helpful things to help you blog.

First, if you have solved a problem with the iPad lately, you could blog about it so that others will read and take any suggestions on what to do about it.

Second, you can blog about something personal (but not too personal!), like sports, having something cool happen to you, or other events.

Third, if you particularly like a book or movie that you are reading or have watched, you can blog a short summary or a review of that book or movie, just not enough to spoil it for another person.

Fourth, you can blog about something informational that some people may not know a lot about, like camo octopi and giant squids.

Last, you can write about a holiday that your family celebrates in a different way than most or a cool holiday that you celebrate and that other people might want to know about!

My Top Three Favorite Books By Dylan J

My all time favorite book was Inheritance in the Eragon series. I like this book because the plot was written well and it keeps you reading with exciting things on each page. Although, if you do not like reading books that are long, this might be a little long. It is 839 pages long.

My second favorite book is The Heroes of Olympus series. I like this series because I am into Greek mythology and I like how they have different characters tell their part of the stories at different times. These books are around 400-600 pages long, so a little long.

My third favorite book is Evil Genius by Catherine Jinks. It might be a little inappropriate because it is about a kid who is extremely smart that is manipulated into doing many evil things. Although I still liked this book because it hooks you in. It is 486 pages but the font is tiny and it should be about 650 pages.

I hope you enjoy these suggestions.

Community Service by Vasili C.

When our advisory went gleaning for community service I was excited for this but when it became a competition we started working harder. The bags kept coming and coming and so did the potatoes. There were some big potatoes and some small potatoes. My partner and I started to come up with a system for gathering potatoes. The system was that I was bagging the potatoes while he was picking them and bringing them to me. This was a good system until we noticed that the other group was gathering more potatoes than us. The worst thing was that this didn’t start out as a competition but it gradually kept getting more competitive as we went on. It ended up that we had 80 bags in all which is 800 pounds. I think that we did a good job with this community service project and it felt good to do for others.
