I am proud of my robin hood a few weeks ago. I got it on a humid day, a Wednesday. I walked up to ten yards and heard the command “Archers up!” and picked up my bow, a 2012 riot by mission, and knocked an arrow. I clipped my release into the loop and waited for the command “Fire when ready.” When it came I smoothly drew back the string until the cams took over and it became easy. I looked through the peep sight aligning it with the true glow sight, and put the pin that is set for ten yards onto the bullseye. Slowly and steadily I pulled back the release’s trigger and heard the whip of the limbs going back into place. I lowered the hefty bow and observed my shot. A bullseye. I reset and shot again. I heard a big crack and saw an arrow at an angle hanging down off the target. That was the part that puzzled me, the arrow hanging down, because forty pounds of force drives that arrow. At that power it should go into the target pretty far; even into wood it will stick. I finished shooting my arrow and went down range after the call “Retrieve your arrows” came. As I got closer I saw why the arrow wasn’t in the target, it was in the arrow! I shot the first arrow into the bullseye then shot the second arrow into the first (like robin hood did) and split the arrow. The reason it didn’t completely split is because carbon arrows are super tough.
Where do you do archery?
At NC hunter supply. The range and my archery coach is in the store,
Nice shooting. Was it all bulls-eyes? I might go to the NC hunter supply. I absolutely love archery. I might not be that good at it, but it’s still very fun.
No a few in the black. Great that you might go to NC Hunter Supply! The archery coach there is amazing! He is a level four archery coach which there are only two on the east coast. The only level five on the east coast is the Olympic coach. It doesn’t matter if you aren’t very good you will definitely get better!
O.K., thanks:):):):):):):) I will actually ask my dad if I can visit the shop. Do you need to sign up for lessons? Or is it just a walk-in places.
You have to sign up but it’s easy. Just go online to http://www.nchuntersupply.com and the coach’s name is John. You might have to go to http://www.lifetimearchery.com to get signed up. Just call him or send him an email. I just stopped going because I have another place to shoot that’s closer so wednesday is open!
Cool! I did archery at camp in fourth grade and really liked it! But my parents have this issue with girls and weapons.
Haha yeah. I love archery!
My little sister LOVES archery. She has all her stuff, but she doesn’t know where to shoot and stuff. That’s why I asked…😅
Umm… NC hunter supply is the only one I can think of that you can shoot. I shoot at another place but you need a membership and they don’t accept any new members anymore.
And our neighbors do target practice with guns in their yard, yet when I asked to try archery, they acted like it was some sort of federal offense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What kind of guns?
I think they are like rifles.
No I mean real or like a BB gun.
Real!!! They hunt too. And we live in 2,750 acres of woods, so gun hunting is illegal.
Lucky that you live on that much woods but unlucky they illegally hunt with guns. Though if the land they own is private and they shoot in a safe direction they are aloud to shoot so I don’t know why you aren’t allowed to do archery.
Well, my dad fought in a war, so he has problems with anything that has to do with weapons. Ya, we are lucky to live in the woods, but we only own 12 acres of it. 😀
Twelve acres of wood is still a lot. I would be happy to own 12 acres. I can understand why your dad has problems with weapons. If I was in the war and saw the things that he probably saw, then I wouldn’t even want to think about guns.
