Yesterday we went potato picking. We potato picked through the Society of St. Andrew which gets food out of already harvested fields. Picking sweet potatoes from the ground was hard, but it was fun most of the time. My partner and I would make a big pile of potatoes and then when all of the potatoes were gone from the area, we would bag them and put them in a truck. The potatoes were always still stuck to the plant, which was really annoying because you had to pull them off of the plant. Near the end, I found a giant potato that nearly filled up the entire bag to “basketball size”. The people who were there were nice except that if your bag wasn’t “basketball size” then they would send you away, after walking all the way there, to get more potatoes. My partner and I think that we got 28-30 bags of potatoes by the end.
