Soccer Tournament by Jack

Last weekend I went to a soccer tournament called the C.A.S.L Shoot Out. I play goalie and right midfield. Our first game was close but we still won one to zero. The second was not as close. We won three to one. The third game was the same as the second game, three to one. I scored a goal in this game. This is what happened. The goalie punted the ball and it bounced over the defender’s head. So I ran after the ball. It bounced over to the corner flag. It was going out so I tried to cross the ball, but my momentum made the ball curve. It bounced once, then in the GOAL. The fourth game was the finals. We won the game two to zero.We won the tournament so we got a big cup and some medals.

Grammar Project by Jack H

For my grammar project I did how to use however in a sentence. I’m going to teach you how to how to use however in a sentence. It is not hard to do. If in your sentence however means “but” then you would put a semicolon in the front of however and you would put a comma at the end of however. If you have however and it means “no matter how”, then you have two options. You could put however at the beginning of the sentence and put a comma like However long it takes, I will go to the game or you could put it in the middle of the sentence like I will go to the game however long it takes.

Community Service Project by Jack

Our class and a few other classes helped the Society of St. Andrew when we picked sweet potatoes. I know what you are thinking, “Why not get machines and get them?” They don’t because the machines can’t get them, so volunteers go out in the fields and fill up bags with potatoes. In each bag we put about ten pounds of sweet potatoes. There were four other people in the group and together we got like 85 bags which is 850 poundes of potatoes. Going on this trip was fun and we made a difference in the community, so it made it more fun!

I Am Proud Of… By Jack H.

Image from Flickr storm

I am proud of the time I went on a high ropes course for the first time. The reason I am proud of it is because it was thirty feet off the ground. I had to climb up a pole using really big staples and unclip myself soI could get from wire to wire. It was hard at first but near the end it was easy.

I went to the high ropes course. It was when I was at a sleep away camp that is in south Carolina. The high ropes course is not the only thing that you do at the camp. You go white water rafting, zip lining, and peach picking. It was really fun and I might do it again next year.

Canoeing at Camp Cheerio by Jack H

If you are going to canoe at Camp Cheerio you should bring a pair of water shoes or old tennis shoes. You should bring old clothes or a bathing suit because you will get wet. When I went it was raining so I got really wet.  In the beginning there were some cows and sometimes they went into the water.  There were a lot of rocks in the water so don’t think you are bad just because you hit a lot of rocks. If you go canoeing at Camp Cheerio have fun!
