I am thankful for my dog Snowy. He is four and a half pounds so he doesn’t take up much space especially when he curls up into a ball. He is a maltese and is filled with energy sometimes and is asleep the next. I am thankful for him because every night he sleeps on the pillow next to my head. When he hears a noise in the hallway or in a differant room he will lift his head up and look through the crack in my door from the bed as if he was standing guard overnight. He waits for me in the hallway, on my pillow, and on the stairs for me to go to bed so he can sleep with me. I love my dog Snowy.
The iPads that the Durham Academy middle school received are a real privilege to have. Everyone in the school takes advantage of the tools that are available. Evernote is very easy to use and is my favorite app on our iPads. Keeping me organized with my notes, it is easy to find homework assignments that I forgot to write down. The iPads open up new activities to do in class and new kinds of projects. Recently in my LA class we used the iPads to make Keynote presentations. I hope Durham Academy will add to the iPad experience, and that my classmates will take advantage of this opportunity as much as I have.
On of the things I am very thankful for are my dogs. They are always very lively and excited. Whenever I come inside, they’re there, they are always there for me. I am proud of them for many things like: they just turned three, I successfully taught Madi how to play soccer, and they learned how to fetch and catch a tennis ball. I am very glad we got them.
One of the things I am thankful for is being able to eat good food because some people can’t eat good food like most of us. I am very lucky that I am one of those people that can eat. The other thing I am thankful for is the places where people can get food they wouldn’t be able to get if there wasn’t a place like that. Now, those people also get to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving and any other meal they have without worrying about having to make sure everyone got enough to eat. I am very excited for Thanksgiving and I bet everyone else is too.
I’m thankful for my golden retriever Sky. He has been with me since I was born, and even before that. My dog Sky is thirteen in human years, which makes him ninety-one in dog years. When I come home from school, or any activity, Sky is always there to greet me in his doggy way: wagging his tail, and sniffing my clothes and backpack. Sky is very lazy, and he sleeps all day. My family has to trick him to go outside. We ring the doorbell, making him think that there is someone outside, which makes him jump up and run to the door. If that doesn’t work, then we bribe Sky with his dog food. Sky basically owns my house. He sleeps anywhere he wants, as long as my dad make him go away. Because he’s so old, in January I’m giving sky a puppy. I hope that Sky will take care of the puppy, and be like it’s dad. In conclusion, I’m thankful for my dog Sky because he comforts me in times of need.
I am thankful for the fact that my family is not constantly “plugged in” to devices. We are a family that watches television, so it is a bit easier to stay away from electronics. It makes me be able to appreciate the world a bit better and learn about things that interest me like psychology and the world that is around us. It also helps us connect as a family. I am also thankful for the school that I go to. It is the best school ever!
I am thankful for myself. Some people are thankful for their families, I am thankful for myself. That I have all the body parts a human needs, no mental diseases, or any different disabilities. Some people are thankful for their families, friends, clothes, school, education, etc. But I’m thankful that I’m alive, in this world, born into a family, going to school. And I’m not saying that being thankful for families and friends is bad. It’s just that everyone should be grateful for who they are, and just live their lives with it. Even people with disabilities are thankful that they are even alive with whatever has gone wrong with them. Be thankful that you’re not those people who got just a tiny bit unluckier than you. When people are living in a life with a family, a house, wearing clothes, and getting an education, they think it’s normal stuff and don’t really care. That it’s just one of those boring days where you get up, get ready for school or work, and come back home after it, have dinner, get ready for bed, and sleep. Be thankful that you have a place to do those things. And if not, so what? God made each and every one of us different for a purpose, just the way He wanted you do be.
I am thankful for the family I have, my family is the most important thing right now in my life. They are nice to me and they help me in everything I ask them to help me with. I am also thankful for going to school. I know a lot of kids hate school but I am very thankful to go to school and get an education at a nice school.
I am very grateful for a lot of things, but the one thing I am very grateful for is my family. I have a big and a great family. I have two sisters, one brother, a mom, and a dad. My sisters are very nice but sometimes they can be really annoying. My brother is just like me, he loves basketball and sports. My mom is so helpful. She does the dishes, the laundry, and helps me with my homework. My dad is helpful too. He does the laundry, dishes, and practices with me for basketball. I am very lucky to have a great family.
